Copper is extremely easy to clean and you only need to use soap and water. There is no need for special cleaners, in fact you really do not want to use these products as they can inhibit the natural qualities of copper.

Copper vessel sinks are generally a bit more expensive than standard sinks, so the natural tendency is to look for a good deal. That is fine, but you should not blindly pick a cheap copper vessel sink. Copper sinks are hand made, and may have welds in them. You must make sure if your sink has welds that the welds are copper like the rest of the sink. A big reason for this is that as copper ages the finish will transform from shiny to a more rustic reddish copper look. If you have welds made from a material other than copper, your sink’s color will not be even as it ages.

This is also another reason you do not want to purchase a cheap copper sink just because of the price. Make sure the sink is truly 100% copper. You may find low prices on sinks that are not truly copper sinks. This is only an issue of you are bargain hunting and run into a smaller, foreign supplier. If you stick to the copper sinks made in the United States and Mexico, you will have a huge selection to choose from and you greatly reduce the risk of being sold an inferior product.
